Install it
- 01Download the disk image and open it. Drag Meridian to Applications.
- 02First launch asks for your name, whether this is a solo or a shared household, your own password (14 characters or more), and gives you a 24-word recovery kit to write down. Nothing leaves the machine.
- 03Bring your accounts in with a CSV or OFX export, or connect a bank if you choose to. You can undo any import as a batch.

And the iPhone
Quasar for iPhone is a free TestFlight companion for paid purchases of Meridian. After you buy, your invitation arrives by email; accept it in TestFlight and pair the phone with your Mac. There is no public beta link, and the three-day trial does not qualify, because the companion belongs to the purchase.
The small print, in normal words
- Updates are free and automatic. The app checks the release feed and offers new versions; you are never asked to pay again.
- Your licence is not an account. It is checked locally. There is nothing to sign into, and nothing to lose access to if we disappear.
- If Meridian stops being made, your vault stays readable, because the app is the only thing that opens it and it lives on your disk.
- Not on the Mac App Store. We ship direct so the app can write to the sync folder you choose instead of a container only the App Store build can reach.
